Mark decides to move from Prague to the countryside. He returns to the house where he had spent his childhood and which he had abandoned under bizarre circumstances. A lost girl; the evident apprehensions of the village people; legends about a burial place; the apparently non-accidental death of his parents, years before; his sister, who has been locked in a madhouse for years: all adds up against MarkÂ’s intention to begin a new life dedicated to painting. Gradually, memories of a forgotten infancy, full of nightmares and doubts, start to emerge. Will Mark find himself or will he be forever in darkness?
